Since the advent of cloud solutions 2010 and the subsequent drive for companies to become more paperless the landscape has dramatically changed on how data, information and documents are stored within the Pharmaceutical Industry. In 2017 the Pharma 4.0 Operating Model was published to assist companies with making this transition from predominantly paper based systems to full electronic based.

As Engineering and operations groups change to a procedures can be difficult. For companies this change is difficult and it needs to be implemented from the ground up. A move from paper systems to full electronic needs to start at the initial project phase. This provides the lifecycle documentation in the required format and assists with the cultural move from paper to less paper with the ultimate goal being fully digital. To achieve this there is a need for multiple systems to be aligned and overall procedures to be developed to define this process. At DEM Services as Engineers that are working in the project delivery and operational environments we have upskilled to understand these systems and enhanced our team with software designers to add the required skill set to deliver. We follow a 6 sigma approach DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control). The deployment of a system is through the normal project headcount. DEM Services can provide the Engineering resources in full or provide key resources (Document Controller, CQV Lead, Project Planner, Operational/Engineering Readiness Planner) or work with the client to train all resources as required with support for the project duration.

We use Office 365 Platform to create the overall system connectivity's. This also allows us to data analytics for the overall project reporting with information available in the required format with no need to spend hours building data tables each time report is required. This collaboration space can be developed within the client environment to ensure that there is a standard created for all future projects or DEM Services can provide this low cost solution for a client. We call this MAPP (Modular Agile Project Platform).
